Andrea on Sky News Discussing Director Digital ID Laws

In case you missed it, here is the interview Andrea Tokaji had with ROWAN DEAN on his show in Sky News on Tuesday night: The World According to ROWAN DEAN titled;

"Concerns have risen over 'privacy' with new Digital ID requirement for businesses"

This interview highlights the ongoing concerns Australians have in relation to their privacy on line, the AUSTRALIAN Government's violation of parliamentary due process, and their insistence on passing laws without proper consultation or engagement with the relevant stakeholders.

Not many business people, charities or organisations are aware of these new laws, despite the threat of a $1.1m fine after the 30th of November if they are not registered with the new Government platforms: ABRS and MyGovID.

These Corporations Act (Cth) 2001 amendments came in 2019, under a Coalition Government, and have the threat of the international number being made public by the ABRS Registrar, who is also the Commissioner of Taxation here in Australia.

What privacy and safety protections are afforded to Australians under this new Scheme?

What implication will this have to our personal and commercial privacy?

How will this be used against people, in the midst of cancel culture?

And, given that this is an international number, how will this be used by those with less than good intentions internationally?

There are more questions than answers when it comes to this new legislation.
